Embracing Passions.
In high school, I was thrown into a theatre class. The next thing I knew, I was assistant stage manager for our school play. I remember the moment I knew I wanted to do theatre for the rest of my life. I felt at home and passionate about the stories we were telling. In 2018, I started my college career at High Point University in North Carolina and became assistant stage manager during my first semester. Working on my first production, Men on Boats directed by Jay Putnam, I quickly learned stage management requires a person to have the ability to communicate with different groups within the company in a productive, friendly way. I found that open communication and mutual respect are pillars in any theatrical production and that I can meaningfully contribute in these areas.
Since my time at HPU, I had the opportunity to stage-managed over 20 productions. I have also taken on responsibilities of Front of House Manager and Production Manager with various companies in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
